We have just received our Down syndrome diagnosis. How is this going to affect my child's development?
Every child with Down syndrome is an individual and each can be affected differently. Children with Down syndrome have the ability to learn and develop a range of skills but need additional support and encouragement. Accessing early and continuous helps our children learn more effectively, so here at Together 21 we understand that children with Down syndrome have a specific learning profile, and our work uses a range of techniques to help children learn alongside parents to help every child reach their full potential.
We have just received our Down syndrome diagnosis, and we are not ready for a group yet. Can you help?
We know this can be a challenging time, and the thought of joining a group can be overwhelming. If you feel that you just need to sit down and have a 'cuppa' and a chat with someone that understands, please contact Maggie Hart, Specialist Advisory Teacher, on maggie.hart@pcp.uk.net.
